Resonance

the condition wherein a vibration amplitude is much higher for a given input force

Resonance is the tendency of a system to oscillate with greater energy (amplitude) at some frequencies than at others. A frequency that produces a response amplitude at a relative maximum is known as a ‘resonant frequency.’
